End of May we contacted you with the invitation, whether you would like to present your scientific contribution which you have submitted for the 91. Annual Meeting 2020 at the BVHNO-Congress in Mannheim in October this year. The consistently positive resonance from the authors was overwhelming; I would like to thank you once again personally for your acceptance!

In the middle of the replanning of the Scientific Program, we are now receiving the news that the Government of Baden-Württemberg has agreed on a new legal regulation on infection-protective measures against the spread of the Corona-Virus, which came into force on July 1, 2020. This regulation includes that events with more than 500 participants are not permitted until October 31, 2020. Even though there are currently some discussions, that events with a trade-fair character will be excluded from this regulation and should also be possible before end of October, they are subject to an officially prescribed hygiene concept. This hygiene concept makes it impossible for the Executive Board to place only the active contributors of our society, who have been invited so far, not to mention to place additional members in the auditorium.

Against this background, the Executive Board have to inform you once again today, with our greatest regret, that after careful consideration we now have to cancel the planned "small" 91. Annual Meeting of the German Society of ORL & HNS in Mannheim.

The authors, who are also members of the German ORL-Society, will promptly receive more detailed information via the usual information channels about the cancellation of the planned alternative date of the General Meeting and the elections, which are also connected with this.

Let us remain in a lively academic and personal exchange even in these turbulent times. In the hope that the situation will ease up next year and we will all meet again in Berlin for a very special Annual Meeting on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our society, I remain
