Operative Zugänge zur vorderen Schädelbasis/Approaches to the anterior skull base

This course will use a didactic format to illustrate how to select the optimal surgical approach for patients with malformations, traumatic lesions and tumors at the anterior skull base. Mainly, the endonasal approach, the midfacial degloving, the osteoplastic frontal sinus operation (with fat obliteration as well as with cranialization) and the subcranial approach according to Raveh will be explained in detail by discussing the surgical steps. Concise examples will be used for each approach presented by digital images and videos. They will highlight the pros and cons of each approach and the specific indications for utilizing it depending on the nature and location of the lesion. Particular attention will be drawn to the endonasal micro-endoscopic tumor resection.
